The Zimbabwe Hip Hop Awards (ZHHA) have officially opened their nomination submission portal for the 2025 edition, marking a historic milestone as the awards celebrate 15 years of recognizing and celebrating excellence in hip hop culture.
Launched in 2011, the ZHHA are widely believed to be the first-ever hip hop award show in Africa, a groundbreaking platform that has consistently given artists, producers, DJs, promoters, and creatives a space to shine.
Over the past decade and a half, the awards have not only showcased the best talent in Zimbabwean hip hop but have also underlined the genre’s resilience, growth, and cultural impact.

The 15th anniversary is more than a celebration of music—it is a testament to the dedication and consistency of the organizers who have successfully staged the event every single year without fail. At a time when few other genres in Zimbabwe have dedicated award ceremonies, the ZHHA stand tall, putting hip hop ahead of the curve as the only genre with its own platform of this scale.

Speaking on the milestone, one of the organizers said:
“Fifteen years is no small feat. We’ve kept this movement alive against all odds, and this year we want to celebrate that legacy in a big way. ZHHA has always been about documenting the culture and giving hip hop the respect it deserves. We are excited to host the 15th edition at Zimbali Gardens, a venue that reflects the growth and class hip hop has achieved in Zimbabwe.”
